Brest

I arrived in Brest on Sunday night. Besides being a good test for Freudian slips while typing, Brest is known as a maritime town with a long and rich history, most of which was leveled by the Allies in World War II. It's pretty plain-looking now, for the most part, but the river is still beautiful, and there's a cool naval history museum in the old castle.
My school here is very different from the last one I was at: it's quite a bit larger, but most of that space is being used for more specialized classes (medical French, French for foreign police, etc.). It's also on the outskirts of town, with its own buildings (including cafeteria) and grounds, giving it kind of the feel of the X-Men academy.
The classes are very good though, and it's just next door to my host family's house, so it's very convenient.

The bird must be studying at the X-men Academy, too.
I hadn't seen modern bridges like that in France before. That's a classic looking castle. The weather looks nicer.

Yeah, there were photos of the old bridge, and it looked much cooler - it was built in the mid-1800's, and was divided into two pieces, which pivoted to let boats pass.
