Paracas National Park

Sometimes signing up for a group tour is the right decision. A good example would be the hike at Gocta. I could have done that on my own, but it would have required me to hike several hours alongside a road, skip one of the waterfalls, then wait around for a ride back; the group tour was a much better way to go.

This time, on the other hand, I would have been much better off on my own. Paracas National Park is right outside of town, includes just a short loop road - and there are bike rentals in town. I was in a bus tour, but halfway through decided to ditch the bus, and head back to Paracas on my own, through the park. This was definitely the right call.

Is the final photo a sailboat stuck in a sand dune?

Monument, but I think that's the idea.

Too bad you did not rent a bike instead of the tour.
