This morning, I was woken around 5 AM by a man calling for his son. "Hector, Hector!" he shouted, wandering up and down the halls, opening all the cabin doors and shouting for his son in each. He was clearly becoming increasing desperate, as his shouting grew louder and he came into all the cabins to call for his son a second time. A few minutes later, I heard him sobbing to one of the crew that his son was missing, a general alarm was called, and as I tried to get back to sleep afterwards, I was convinced that this guy's 10-year old son had fallen overboard.
That morning, I asked the steward if the man's son was okay:
"Oh, yeah, he's fine - he just went down into the cafeteria in the middle of the night.
There are about 200 souls on board, all told, of which probably half are foreigners.
We've seen a few whales, but mostly seals:

Glad nobody fell overboard.
I didn't know seals breached like that.
What fun.
