Argentina(/Brazil/Paraguay): Iguazu Falls

I flew from Salta to Iguazu Falls. The evening I arrived I went to my hotel, then found there was a boat tour leaving shortly, which went to the border intersection of the three countries. There was a band playing various cover songs, and booze, so it was kind of a different vibe from most of my boat tours, but the views were nice.

I got dinner at a Mexican place (unusual for here).

The next day I took a bus to the waterfall (Argentinean side). It was spectacular here. There were lots of swifts flying around through the falls.

There were also lots of coatis begging and stealing food from tourists.

I took a boat down to the base of the falls, which was tons of fun. The boats go directly under the smaller waterfalls. I wish I'd paid the extra for a plastic bag for my phone, so I could take photos directly under the falls.

There were some nice hikes around to various overlooks too.

The next day I took another bus tour out to the falls, this time on the Brazilian side. It was much tackier here just across the border, but the falls were beautiful again, with different angles on everything, and lots of waterfalls.

Afterwards, we stopped at a wildlife park on the way back.

My final day there, I took another morning trip out to Iguazu on the Argentinean side. I went to some of the same spots again, but the weather was different. I got there earlier, and hurried to the falls before the first wave of tourists, so I had an easier time getting photos without people's heads in the way.

I took another boat tour, this a more laidback one along the water at the top of the falls.

I walked around a bit more, seeing some spots I'd missed on my first day.

I flew back to Buenos Aires. I decided to end with a beach day, and took a bus to Pinamar. It was nice relaxing end to a busy month!

I took the bus back to Buenos Aires, and flew out from there. Typical Argentinean hot chocolate at the airport: a mug of hot milk, with a chocolate bar dropped in it, that you then stir together.

My overall trip:
