Don't Feed the Wildlife

Summer is officially over.  We got our first winter storm of the year, complete with hundred mile per hour winds, below-freezing temperatures, and snow in the hills.  Five days later, one of my coworkers still lacks power.  On the other hand, we also had some beautiful days this summer - in fact, the last few days have been gorgeous, perfect shorts and t-shirt weather, with temperatures WELL into the 50's.  (It's possible that my standards have changed slightly, after a year and a half in Alaska.)

I've been keeping busy these last few months.  I went to Monterey for a conference, to St. Louis for my cousin's graduation, and to Juneau when my parents came to visit.  Plus I ran a marathon. And, of course, did lots and lots of hiking and biking, on top of the usual busyness with work and online classes.  Check out some photos from my trips here: https://picasaweb.google.com/n.james.walker/AlaskaEtcetera?authkey=Gv1sRgCJys9KiQmI6WhgE#slideshow/5784936583046348114
I hope you're all doing well!
