Beaverton, Oregon - February 1, 2008

I've just received word that my Nature Conservancy burn crew is going to be based out Van Buren, Missouri (see map), although we'll be traveling to other parts of the state as well. According to Wikipedia:

Van Buren is a city in Carter County, Missouri, United States. The population was 845 at the 2000 census, at which time it was a town. It is the county seat of Carter County. The city was organized in 1830 and was named for United States Secretary of State (and later President) Martin Van Buren.
